Dutch VanderVlucht
West Region Non-resident Executive Presbyter
Stan Tharp, pastor of Dayton Christian Life Center AG, served with excellence as the executive presbyter for the West Region for over two years. In October, 2008, Pastor Stan tendered his resignation as executive presbyter in order to heighten his focus on initiatives and plans at his local church. He wrote, “It has been an honor to serve, and one that I have truly enjoyed. I just have to be realistic in how many responsibilities I can carry, and I feel this is an appropriate time to step aside.”
Superintendent Wootton is pleased to report that the District Presbytery recently ratified the appointment of Pastor Dutch VanderVlucht to fill this vacancy. Dutch and Cindy have pastored at Findlay New Life AG since 1992 and have two grown children, and one grandchild. After growing up under Don McManness’s ministry at Toledo Calvary AG, Dutch graduated from Evangel University with a degree in Business Administration in 1979. While working in the business market, he served in many lay leadership capacities at Calvary AG. He served briefly as the Associate Pastor before accepting the call to serve as senior pastor of New Life Assembly of God in Findlay, Ohio in 1992. During the past 16 years at New Life, the church has grown significantly in lay leadership, intentional spiritual formation, and ministry participation.
An ordained AG minister, Dutch is passionate about helping pastors and church leaders revitalize the local church. He has participated in many aspects of leading and coaching church health in the Ohio District. He is certified as a coach for the Natural Church Development process and is preparing to be a consultant with Church Life (a network of over 1000 AG churches in North America). Currently, Dutch is participating in a Church Life Masters Degree Cohort through the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
Brent and Lisa Page
HonorBound Men's Ministries and Women's Ministries Directors
Serving as new district administrators (Brent - HonorBound Men’s Ministries Director, and Lisa - Women’s Ministries Director) is not the only thing Brent and Lisa Page have in common. They also share a wonderful church where Brent is pastor and Lisa serves as youth pastor (New Life Community Church AG, Ashland, Ohio). And even more importantly, they share four beautiful children (all in college or high school) as a result of nearly 25 years of wedded bliss!
With executive leadership involvement in Women’s Ministries in another district and an extensive background in creating and leading various ministries for women, Lisa brings a great deal of passion and excitement to the position of district Women’s Ministries director. Since arriving in Ohio seven years ago, Lisa led a dynamic women’s ministry at her church and served with the local MOPS chapter as head mentor. Lisa is a certified AG minister who loves to share scriptures with women like Psalm 45:11 and Zephaniah 3:17 so ladies understand how greatly they are loved by their heavenly Father. Brent steps into the role of district HonorBound director having served as the HonorBound rep for the North Central Section and feels called to help men realize their full potential in Christ, with a focus on strengthening ties between fathers and sons. He is an ordained AG minister who pastored congregations in Louisiana and North Carolina prior to assuming leadership at NLCC in Ashland. He enjoys motorcycling and shooting, but not at the same time (as far as we know). The Pages will remain at NLCC in Ashland since these district directorships are not full-time positions.
Eric Schroeter
Church Planting Director
Donna Barrett has directed the Church Planting (CP) Department with excellence and distinction since 2004 while also serving as the lead pastor and planter of Rockside Church AG in Independence, Ohio. In May of 2008, Donna’s leadership was acknowledged during Ohio’s 63rd Annual District Council when she was elected as one of the state’s executive presbyters. Her added responsibilities with this new position and her desire to spend more time in her pastoral role led her to submit her resignation as the CP Director, effective 11/30/2008.
Subsequently, the District Presbytery ratified Superintendent Wootton’s appointment of Eric Schroeter to the position of Church Planting Director, a full-time position assumed on January 1, 2009.
Eric and his wife, Kathleen, served as church planters in Mount Gilead, Ohio for nine years before he transitioned to the Ohio District Council to assume the position of Church Ministries and Resource Development Director in October of 2006. He later began serving as the HonorBound Men’s Director for the district in March of 2007 and the Light for the Lost Director in January of 2008.
During the past four-and-a-half years Eric has also sat on the district’s CP Cabinet. He has a passion to find creative ways to catalyze multiplication in churches.
Eric and Kathleen have five children—Ericsson, Konrad, Landon, Isabela, and Sofia. He enjoys time with his family and skiing.
