Dear Ohio Youth Leader,
Spring is here and with it comes our Annual Fine Arts Festival. We are definitely excited about the additions to this year's event. Hopefully you have already seen the materials sent to your church. If not, this e-mail should give you plenty of information to help you be successful at Fine Arts this year. For those who have been already planning for Fine Arts, this e-mail has tons of additional information for you.
Our goal with the Fine Arts Event is to inspire your students to year round ministry involvement. We feel that Fine Arts can be a catalyst to motivate your students to ministry by helping them discover, develop, and deploy their ministry gifts.
If your students have not been involved in Fine Arts in the past, this is the year to jump in! We can help steer you to all the helps you need to get started. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at oym@ohioag.org or call us at 614-396-0700.

Deploying Fine Arts.
What is the purpose of the Ohio Fine Arts Festival? That is a great question. Like I said earlier in this e-mail, I believe the Fine Arts Event can be a catalyst for year long ministry. Fine Arts is an opportunity for your students to try ministries they may have never tried before. It is also an opportunity for your students to see hundreds of other students desiring to do the same thing. Our big picture goal is to empower the students of Ohio to deploy their ministry gifts to impact the kingdom in your local community. So how can you help your students begin to deploy their gifts? Here are a few downloads that will get you started. Also, at this year's event we will be making an effort to model and reward ministries that understand the purpose of Fine Arts, DEPLOYMENT.

Non-Participant Fee
There have been a few questions about the non-participant fee for Fine Arts & Fun Arts. This is a conversation that has been years in the making.
Due to the added security measures that large events and conventions are suggested to take, it is important for us to register everyone attending the 3 events (Fine Arts, Fun Arts, District Council). This will allow us to monitor our rooms and the hallways at the event and identify people who are not a part of our group. This will provide a much safer environment for you and your students. These added security measures have a few additional fees associated with them that we are unable to absorb into our event. You may have noticed at National Fine Arts and General Council you could not get into the event without a lanyard. That is an example of what security will be like for us at our Fine Arts Festival.
As an added bonus to all registrants, the Ohio Ministry Network will be offering leadership breakouts during Fine Arts presentations. The non-participant registration will allow them to attend these dynamic sessions. For more information you can visit, www.ohioag.org and click on the banner for District Council (it's a big big house). On the schedule there are times titled "up to code". Jeanne Mayo is one of these breakout speakers! There is more specific information to come.
We have done our best to keep the fee as low as possible, $5.00 a person with a $15.00 max per family. You can download the non-participant form here.

Ohio is offering Kappa Tau in 2010
|
Kappa Tau Registrants should register using the same forms that all Fine Arts participants will use. If you want more information on Kappa Tau then read this article.
Kappa Tau is a new discipleship tool of the national youth ministries of the Assemblies of God (AG) designed to help students continue discovering and developing their ministry gifts after they have graduated from high school and are no longer eligible for the National Fine Arts Festival.
Through this Festival, college-aged participants are given the opportunity to continue developing their ministry gifts by having their entries evaluated by qualified professionals, teachers and ministers who encourage excellence and offer ideas for improvement.
Participants must be 18 to 23 years of age and no longer enrolled in high school as of September 1, 2009. Participants must be in good standing with a local AG church and/or AG student ministries organization (e.g., Chi Alpha, Master's Commission or University).

Helps Category
We have been continually evaluating our Fine Arts Festival and the goal of helping students Discover, Develop, and Deploy their ministry gifts. We have realized that there are more ministry gifts that our students have than what are represented on the stage. In all of our youth ministries we have students that play a vital role in the success of our ministries in the area of helps. We, in Ohio, are going to create a category for all those students who set up our rooms faithfully, who run sound, and those students who are always there when we need them. We will be recognizing and honoring students who want to minister in HELPS at Fine Arts in 2010 in the closing ceremonies. The cost for each student is $15.00. They will receive a t-shirt and recognition of ministering at Fine Arts. We will be scheduling these students to help out in various tasks and ministries at Fine Arts. This is a great opportunity for those students who have a heart for ministry but not on the stage and for those that are not already registered in other categories.
For more information on Registering for a HELPS category please contact us by e-mailing us here.
